Toronto’s embattled mayor Rob Ford was out of rehab and back on the job maybe two days when he participated in a Canada Day parade on Tuesday.
Muggy day, big guy – things were already hot. And then along came the Shirtless Jogger. Joe Killoran, a resident of Toronto, happened to be out for a jog and spotted the mayor. So he jogged over and got into the mayor’s face, demanding that he answer questions about a variety of subjects pertinent to his job as mayor.
The mayor said nothing, simply trying to move away from the Shirtless Jogger. The Shirtless Jogger, for his part, kept on the mayor, even when faced by a Ford supporter who accused Killoran of working for one of Ford’s rivals.
Here's the raw video - it's a little fuzzy at the start, give it a few seconds...
Killoran says he’s just a taxpayer, out for a jog.
One must marvel at his restraint. Imagine what might have happened if he’d asked the mayor to join him on that jog.
Future generations may persist in referring to today as Canada Day, but for me it will forevermore be known as #ShirtlessJogger Day.
