WEEK 10: JOHN CURTIS


John Curtis Christian High School took on Eleanor McCain High School over the weekend of November 8th and defeated them 49 to 6.  This win helped John Curtis High School become one of only two area football teams to earn NO. 1 seed in the state playoffs. This is why John Curtis is this week’s B97 High School Team of the Week.

WEEK 9: MANDEVILLE


The battle on the Northshore was between Northshore and Mandeville High.  With 4 touchdown passes, Mandeville prevailed 38 to 17 over Northshore giving the Skippers their 7th win of the season...and making Mandeville High School this week's B97 High School Team of the Week.

WEEK 8: RUMMEL


It was homecoming for the Jesuit Blue Jays Friday night, 10/25, at Tad Gormely stadium. They started off strong against Archbishop Rummel with a 14 to 0 lead at the half.  The Raiders worked hard to get into the game and managed to tie the game with 1:41 left to play.  Justin Mourain missed the winning field goal in regulation time; however, he managed to redeem himself by kicking the winning field goal in overtime giving the Raiders a 24-21 victory over the Blue Jays.  The down-to-the-wire victory makes this week's B97 High School Team of the Week, the Archbishop Rummel Raiders.

WEEK 7: EAST ST. JOHN


It was a District 7-5A clash and homecoming for the Hahnville Tigers as they took on the Wildcats of East St. John.  The Wildcats plan was to stop the run and that’s exactly what they did, holding the Tigers to 8 yards rushing.  The Wildcats won their 4th consecutive district game 28-12 making East St. John High School this week’s B97 High School Team of the Week.

WEEK 6: ISIDORE NEWMAN


This week’s team of the week moves to 6-0 after a 44 – 14 victory over St. James on the weekend of 10/11. Jai Tyler threw touchdown passes to Justin Harrell who had 8 catches for 35 yards, Tyler Addison 5 catches for 62 yards and Kendall Bussey one catch for 79 yards making this week’s B97 High School Team of the Week, the Isidore Newman High School Greenies.

WEEK 5: BELLE CHASSE


It was the battle of the birds - Belle Chasse pulled out a well earned victory on the road Friday night, 10/4, holding off Chalmette.  The Cardinals scored with 3 minutes left against the Owls, winning 34 to 24 and remaining undefeated...making this week's B97 High School Team of the Week Belle Chasse High School.

WEEK 4: HOLY CROSS


Holy Cross took on West Jefferson over the weekend of September 27th. The Holy Cross defense forced an impressive 6 turnovers to shut-out West Jefferson. The undefeated state ranked tigers won 23-0 making Holy Cross this week’s B97 High School Team of the Week.

WEEK 3: EAST JEFFERSON


This weekend was the rivalry between East Jefferson and Bonnabel. The warriors rushed for 6 first half touchdowns against the Bruins, eventually scoring 56 points while the warrior defense held the Bruins scoreless. East Jefferson remains undefeated and moved up to rank No. 4 in the state class 4A making East Jefferson High School this week’s B97 High School Team of the Week.

WEEK 2: BROTHER MARTIN


It was a football weekend of “down to the final seconds” wins. With 46 seconds on the clock, Brother Martin walked into the end zone for a late comeback win against John Ehret 22 to 19. Brother Martin’s motto for the week—finishing. Well, they finished with a win making Brother Martin this week’s B97 High School Team of the Week.

WEEK 1: DESTREHAN


Well, Peyton Manning may have thrown 7 TD’s this past weekend, but Destrehan’s Donovan Isom threw 5 touchdown passes and ran for one touchdown, while the Wildcats defense held West Jeffferson to just 22 points giving the Destrehan wildcats a 54 to 22 victory over West Jefferson this past weekend and Making Destrehan High school this week's B97 High School Team of the Week.
