1. How did you become the world’s best mix DJ? What made you want to start?
I don't consider myself the best but thanks for the compliment. What made me want to start is , 1st off I love music that's a start 2nd A friend of mine is a Famous DJ in New Orleans "DJ SPIN" got me into it ,I used to go on gigs with him back in 1998 and I loved the way he worked a crowed I like how playing music for people in a club made them so happy like all there worries and sadness from the whole week went out the door for the time they spent with us.the attition you get is great and free drinks is better.
2. What’s your favorite hype up phrase? (eg – make some noise, lemme hear ya, (fill in blank) in the house, etc.)
AHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHH!!!!! Anybody that knows me knows me for that and still makes fun of me for that because that's all I would say on the mic.
3. Come on be honest, there is a song you don’t have in your Totally On Demand mobile DJ database. What is it?
I have everything but country music, so if you ask for that I don't have it.
4. Do you hope that your son Eddie Jr (E.J.) becomes a mobile DJ too, and if so, will you two face off in awesome father/son battles, and finally, how bad will he school you?
Yeah I want E.J. to become a D.J. but I think he'll end up a producer like Timberland . He all ready plays on my Turntables , he's not supposed to but he finds his way. If we were to face off it would be a good battle young grasshopper but he would school me.
5. What’s your favorite party spot in New Orleans?
I like any kind of bar that plays good music.
Let me introduce my self. I go by the birth name of Eddie . Everybody else calls me Speedy, and no not because of that. I know what you were thinking.
Just in case you were thinking how did I get into radio,well to make a long story short. Right after "The Storm" there wasn't any place for me to DJ so I said what the hey I'll try radio. (Thanks Mike for letting me in!) Yep that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I've been here @ The Mighty B for 2 years now. I'm on Sat nights from 8p till 12mid on a little show called Totally on Demand where you can request anything you want to and I do mean anything."TRY ME". I've been a DJ all over this city, from Bourbon St to Fat City to Bolixi. NOW I can bring my DJing skills to everyone in New Orleans at one time. (Pretty Freaking Cool) I can get your party started before you walk into the club.
I was born and raised right here in the N.O. AAAAAEEEEE, and lived everywhere from Kenner to Metairie to Uptown to St. Benard and yes even the Westbank so everyone in New Orleans is like family to me. I love this crime infested pot hole ridden no left turn having floods every time it rains best food in the world city we all call NEW ORLEANS. I can now say I have been all over the US and there is NO place like the DIRTY SOUTH. Huge Saints fan all ways have been. I am of both Spanish and Italian Heritage but I consider my self a true blooded Neworleanen American (this is starting to sound like a Myspace profile). Don't get me wrong I love Fajitas and Pizza but there is nothing and I do mean nothing like Crawfish and Drago's oysters and a shrimp or oyster or roast beef poyboy dressed with some crystal hot sauce on top.. HELL YEAH....lol. SO I guess I'm going to die here. OH WELL. At least I know what Im going to die of .. Either another freaking hurricane or being obeast.lmao. HOLLA AT YA BOY SOME TIME ...........SPEEDY
