Target Is Closing Dozens Of Stores Across The Country Including One In Louisiana

November 8, 2017

This is the worst time of year to announce that a major retail store is closing it's doors, and to top it off a major one is closing in south Louisiana.

Target announced yesterday that they're closing the doors of several stores in Febuary of 2018. Here is the listing:

Slidell, Louisiana

Hutchinson, Kansas

Benton Harbor, Michigan

Fergus Falls, Minnesota

Hastings, Minnesota

Macon, Georgia

Lauderhill, Florida

Matteson, Illinois

Romeoville, Illinois

Baltimore West

San Antonio Far East

There is one lady in Slidell that has now started a petition to save the Target store in Slidell, La.

Here is what the petition says:

"Target has been a very important part in our community for many years. Closing the target in Slidell, Louisiana would take the jobs of many hard workers who have been there for years and it would remove the positive impact it has had on our community. They are not like any other Target or big box retailer, the team members are family to each other and to our community. As most of you know, most of the buildings in Slidell are closing or has already closed. Target closing will leave Slidell with yet another empty building. It will be expected to close in February unless we, as a community, can make a difference. Please sign to try and keep Target open so we can continue to keep our community thriving and work there for many years to come! "
