LFO Singer Devin Lima Reveals Heartbreaking Cancer Diagnosis

The band previously lost their frontman, Rich Cronin, to leukemia in 2010

October 31, 2017

LFO singer Devin Lima has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, and unfortunately, we just learned his cancer is in the fourth stage.

The singer had a large tumor removed from his abdomen earlier in October. A biopsy of that football-sized tumor revealed the difficult news that the 40-year-old had stage 4 adrenal cancer.

The adrenal glands are located above the kidneys and produce a variety of hormones. Adrenal cancer is a very rare form of the disease.  In fact, US Weekly reports that the the diagnosis only affects one in one million people worldwide.

The tumor has been removed, but doctors say cancer cells may still be present in his body. As a result, he will undergo chemotherapy and radiation.

The band, who is best known for their 1999 hit song “Summer Girls,” lost their lead singer, Rich Cronin, to leukemia in 2010.

It was just this past July when the surviving band members (Devin Lima and Brad Fischetti) released their first song in 15 years, which was titled “Perfect 10.” The duo planned on kicking off a tour in early 2018. The band’s publicist now says the tour has been canceled indefinitely.

Fischetti said Lima has the strength to fight it side in a video posted to YouTube yesterday:

The band’s publicist tells US Weekly that Brad has been by Devin’s side since the day he fell ill, “so LFO will always be together.”
