I was driving today and saw the biggest most obnoxious truck. It wasn't that the truck was big it was the tires. I wish they didn't sell tires that big to regular people. Doesn't that cause more gas usage and harmful emissions?
Another thing, you think people who drive those big cars are over compensating for something? LOL
Seriously, I can't get enough bread. I love those Pillsbury rolls too. Stevie's mom makes garlic bread and I usually woof it down before anyone else can get some. What would I do if someone put me on a low carb diet? I might die...for real.
Have you ever had a friend that just doesn't fit well in your life anymore? You realize that you have both evolved past what you used to be and you don't really like each other anymore.
I think that is natural. The best thing to do is to not be angry. Just understand we all evolve. There's nothing wrong with growing up. The problem is when neither of you want to grow up and you still try to hang on. Just let go, you still have your great memories. Those will never go away.
Stevie thought it was hilarious I moisturized my hands and fell asleep with socks on to hold in the oil. I don't have those glove things. So you work with what you got!
I need life to calm down!!! For the last couple of months my life has been one big to-do list. Laparoscopic surgery, a baby shower for my sister, a bridal shower for a friend, cruise for work, and now my sister is about to give birth any day. Also,Natty and I are in a wedding this Saturday.
I seriously want to scream. I need to be in someone's yoga class like NOW!
Swirl best friend Johnny always gets those emails saying he has a long lost relative who died and left him a million dollars and all he has to do is put in his bank information to get it. Do people really fall for that? We laugh all the time about it. I would love to meet the people who believe that stuff. I would also love to meet the people who send out those emails. I'm sure their as dumb as a box of hammers.
In the past I have asked questions like "why did this happen" or "why can't I have this" and never got answers. Well, I learned that the answers will come in time, and never question why things happen. Just live life and make sure you are happy. Ifyou live according to your own rules and never take anything for granted, you will always find your answers.
Tpot
My sister is Jehovah's Witness and she told me today, when she goes in to have her son, to not let the hospital give her blood. I'm going to be there with her and find it hard to think about that. Those are her beliefs, and I don't want to go against them.
It's so hard having family members with different religious views.
Tomorrow we leave for the Swirl cruise. I am so excited and ready for some rest and relaxation. My bff is in Mexico right now on a vacation and he sent me a picture this morning of what I have to look forward to. I cannot wait!!!!!
Blue water here we come!
There are certain task you have to complete to get in this club.
1st: Get vomited on
2nd: pass out and sleep for a few hours wearing a tshirt with baby vomit on you.
3rd: Plan birthday parties
4th: go to other kid's parties
5th: get crapped on by your baby
There are so many more that I can't even mention. But today I reached a new level. I am selling those entertainment coupon books for Natty's school. She started school today and I'm already selling stuff.
I'm taking such pride in this too. When I was little my family didn't really sell this stuff outside of making other family members buy it. I love that I can do this for her. Being a mommy is wonderful.
Sometimes I get these spells where I am bored or going stir crazy. After talking to my therapist today I discovered I needed a hobby. I've always enjoyed making things but never had the motivation to do it because I feared ridicule. I don't fear that anymore. I fear not being happy and complete. Therefore, I will get a hobby.
I will be making soap. I can't wait to share my gifts and myself with others. I won't sell it or anything. It will just be something that I give as gifts. Yay for hobbies!!!
Nike is trying to make shoestrings that tie themselves!!!  It's based on Back To The Future 2. How long before the shoe strings become self aware and strangle us all?
McFly's Closet
My life has been like one big to do list. I had my friend's shower and bachelorette party and then surgery (laparoscopic) and now it's cruise time.
Thank goodness the busy season is almost over. After the cruise I have my frien'ds wedding and then my sister will have her baby...maybe not in that order LOL
Thanks for all the good thoughts. Here are my before and after surgery pics. BTW, everything is alright. I just got monster cramps. :-/
When there is a really bad storm they take the name out of the storm rotation. Katrina's name was of course taken out and replaced with Katia. Katia is now a tropical storm in the Atlantic and it looks like it's gonna be a doozy. What are the odds it will enter the gulf? It is that time of year so maybe. Let's hope not.
Btw, that is Katrina's image, not Katia.

One of the struggles I have as a parent is teaching my daughter to say she is sorry and meaning it. It's so difficult because I hear other parents tell their kids to "say you're sorry" for whatever they have done. The thing I notice is that they don't tell them why they should be sorry. Even if you give a quick example of why they should I don't know if kids actually understand.
I try to make my daughter understand why she did whatever she did was wrong. I see so many adults who have to apologize for things and it's never sincere. They either don't care or understand how their actions or words hurt others. Hopefully by teaching my young daughter about her actions she will grow into an adult who can admit when she is wrong and seek forgiveness.

Stevie came to work with a cold and ever since then it's been one big germ factory. I got sick and then our promotions guy got sick. How is it so easy to spread germs? I've been walking around squirting purell in my hands every 5 minutes so I don't infect anyone else. BLAH GERMS!

This morning I saw a big cockroach by my front door. If you know me you know I am TERRIFIED of roaches. I ran and got my cat Sprocket. I was told by my bff that girl cats are expert bug hunters. I put her to the test.
I just placed her near the roach and immediately she went to work. I then ran and got the broom and she and I worked together to kill this roach. She kept it cornered while I beat it. It got up once and ran off and she caught it and brought it back to the corner. I finally landed the death blow with the broom.
Roaches better watch out cuz Sprocket and I are unstoppable!!
I just read that beef in our state has been recalled because of e. coli. You can read the article here.
This sucks because it makes you feel like your food isn't even safe to eat. I know one thing, if I get the runs, I'm going straight to the emergency room.
I will have to have surgery coming up at the end of the month. I may have endometriosis and it's freaking me out.
I've never had surgery before and the thought terrifies me.
Here's a pic of my ovary. Her name is Laverne
You ever notice that when you need sleep you can't get it because your kid or kids won't leave you alone? I usually have that problem. Yesterday was different. I was at my mom's house and I was able to sleep all day long!
It's like your mama always knows that you need sleep and lets you get it. So next time you need some rest, go to your mama, cuz mama knows best!
My friend Kami sent me an email about a kid named Tripp Roth. He has Epidermolysis Bullosa, a tissue disease that causes sores on his skin. It's horrible to have a baby that you think is healthy and then find out you can't even put a diaper on him because his skin is so sensitive.
Tripp's mother Courtney has a blog documenting her struggle through his disease. The website is http://www.randycourtneytripproth.blogspot.com/
Go read her blog. She is so courageous and inspiring. Some of the images might be difficult to see but you can still see past all that on the surface and see a happy and loved baby.
T-
I couldn't help myself LOL I love Sprocket in the morning. She's so playful and sneaky. That does get annoying but sometimes, but most of the time she's so sweet.
Last night I watched some documentary on Big Cats. It was about lions, and tigers, and leopards. I can't believe how beautiful they are. Even though they are big, tigers get up to 600 lbs, they are graceful and very skilled hunters. Lions hunt together and Siberian tigers can swim. I also saw a Bengal tiger propel itself out of water to attack some people on a boat. AMAZING!!!
My love of cats doesn't stop there. My sweet Bingo (my black and white cat) reminds me of a big cat in a little cat's body LOL. And Sprocket reminds me of a mischievous little cub :)
We got this new kitten named Sprocket a few months ago and my older cat Bingo was angry. He wouldn't let the kitten near him. Every time she would walk up to Bingo he would hiss. I knew one day they would snuggle. Well that day came. Now it happened for only 30 seconds before Bingo was over it and ran off, but it still happened. Here's how it went down.
She carefully walked up and wrapped her arm around him and licked his head. Then Sprocket started sniffing his ear.
Then after she stopped and just laid with him. He was over it soon and ran off, but look how cute it was.
My brother's son is almost 5 months old and Natty loves spending time with her little cousin so much. She talks about him constantly and seeing her with him gives me baby fever.
She's so gentle and kind. She loves sharing with him as well. Nothing makes me happier than family and mine is delightful.
Reggie Bush is leaving the Saints to go play for the Dolphins. What does this mean?
When Heath Evans came in the studio a while back we talked about Reggie's abilities. He said that Reggie needed more discipline and he could be the best running back in the league. So will moving to a different city make him disciplined? Or is Reggie trading one party city for an even bigger party city? Miami is huge with party goers and we all know Reggie loves the ladies LOL
Whatever he decides to do there, we wish him the best.

My living room is nearly done. All I need to do is put it all back together and have my book sheft built. Last night we spent some time trying to put things back where they belong and I will do some more tonight. Now that I have more storage I can actually put things in an appropriate place.
Next up, hanging my pictures on the wall :)
Today is the last day of the big work. I'm still getting a bookshelf built, but all the painting and stuff is done. I'm so happy right now. Everything has turned out exactly how I wanted.
Those are my new walls. They need a second coat of paint. I took this last night while Stevie and my sister were chilling on the couch LOL
And this is a before shot just in case you forgot how they looked. It's a big difference right!!! Both pictures were taken at night but the new paint makes it look soooo much brighter.
T-
The toy room is finally finished. The kitchen is as well, but I still need curtains. I'm so excited!!!! This is the last week I will have a house full of mess and clutter!!!
My toy room is almost done. I love that I will have all kinds of storage space for everything. I'm just getting so pumped about organizing my life and keeping it that way. Where will I put things? I don't know but I will have so much fun arranging my stuff. Clutter no more!! It's the new Tpot, a new organized and happy Tpot.
The people who lived in the house before had some sort of retro thing going where they had panel and wood all over the walls. I have always hated it. Since we are redoing the play room I decided to redo the walls in the living room.
Yesterday they stripped the panels and the dark wood off the wall and they will patch and paint very soon. Here's what it looks like right now. You can tell where the wood was before. The lighter areas were covered with the panel and wood and the darker part was the wall I painted.
We chose a lighter beige to open up the room.
This is the new closet we are getting built to put in the soon to be revamped toy/laundry room.
I'm so excited to have more space to put things. My stuff will actually have a spot. I will finally live my dream of living in a house that is not full of clutter and mess.
I love getting home repairsdone and coming home to see some progress. My walls are the perfect shade of blue. I'm in love with it already :)
Can't wait till I get home tonight to see how it looks with my floors.
We had a problem with our water heater leaking and now we have to repair our toy/laundry room. Natty is very excited about this because she's going to have a much more organized place to play...ok really I'm excited LOL
My house is always so full of clutter and nothing has a spot. I'm finally redoing the toy room the way I want and everything will have a spot. Home repairs suck cuz you're inconvenienced for a while, but in the end, it's worth it.
I got a pack of wild berry skittles and I got so frustrated. I always open them up and separate them by color. I like to eat my favorites last. The blue is my all time favorite flavor and in my pack I only had 3. 3 blue skittles!!!!!!!!!!! So frustrating. It's like the universe was trying to crap on me.
I find that when I carry cash I go through it so fast. So I decided to never carry more than $20 in my purse and maybe I will use less money. HAHAHAHAHA Who am I kidding!??! I will still burn through it like there's no tomorrow!
I said before how I love the sky and pictures of the sky. Yesterday while looking out of the window in the B97 studio I noticed a rainbow over the bridge.
I had to take a picture and share it with you :)
Stevie and Natty and I went to see the fireworks by Zephyr field yesterday and we had so much fun. My brother, his girlfriend, his son, and my sister came along and we all watched together.
The whole night was perfect. Here's a picture of my nephew watching the fireworks :)
I love awesome pictures of the sky. I made this picture my background on my computer. What I love even more is pictures of Nola.
My best friend often takes great pics of local scenery with his HDR camera and I have many of them hanging on my walls. Every time I look at them it reminds me of how beautiful and simple life can be.
T-
BTW, this pic I took was not HDR but I still love it.
I was driving down a street the other day when I saw a guy holding the wood above his car. It wasn't tied down or anything. He was holding onto it with his hand. Why do the cops stop random people with expired tags, when there are real dangerous vehicles on the road?
Let's also mention one of his back lights is burned out.
There's nothing like being on stage with Stevie G. Last night was NewBee Fest 1 and I can't explain what it's like being up there with him. Every second is fun and he gives me the energy to do anything up there. I'm usually really nervous on stage, but he pulls whatever is in me out.
Thank you everyone who came out last night and who watched online. Most of all, thank you to my partner in everything, Stevie G. I love him more everyday.
Natty took my phone to play angry birds and then I noticed, instead of playing the game, she was taking pictures of me.  How do kids learn to use stuff so fast? She's only 3 and she knows how to use my cell phone better than most people. I'm not gonna say better than me, cuz I know how to use my phone LOL
It's still amazing how kids learn so fast. Here is the picture she took of me this morning.
I got a new dishwasher and this is my friend Johnny installing it. After watching him do that, I am much more handy than I was before. Installing appliances is not as hard as you think. I'm learning so much and now I know my way around a home depot.
Thanks Best Friend Johnny, you're the coolest!
Kittens are so sweet when you are waking up in the morning. There's like a 5 minute window before they go crazy where they look so sweet. I wake up everyday to my kitten Sprocket.  She purrs and is so cute and then 5 minutes later she's a little terror. LOL
There are many ways to manipulate a situation. If you know someone does not want to do something then why even mention it? I had someone on facebook make a really rude comment so I defriended him. I didn't want to see him or get emails or comments from him again, so I blocked him. Done.
He won't stop emailing Stevie and asking him to ask me to friend him again. For some reason Stevie likes to tell me about this. No I won't add him, so don't even tell me he emailed you asking. Done.
T-
We got our new kitten Sprocket 3 weeks ago and my other cat Bingo was not happy. He has been hissing at her whenever she looks at him. The other day I saw them playing. It lasted for about a minute before he realized he didn't like her and started hissing again.
This morning they were both laying in the bed and sorta touching. I think he's getting used to her and by winter they will be snuggling :)
Tpot
After discussing this with Stevie, I don't think we should laugh at strippers who cry. There could be a real reason for their tears besides the dry pole.  Dry poles really are awful, and it makes a weird noise when your skin rubs against it. I mean, is it a fart or dry pole?
Like I said, there could be other issues, so no laughing at crying strippers.
T-
I got a cute new kitten named Sprocket Louise and I wish I could talk to her all day long. Is there a machine, besides leaving insane long messages on my answering machine, where I can talk to her?
And before you say anything, yes, I have crossed over to the crazy cat lady territory.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore made PSAs about child trafficking They tried to take the funny approach to it.
I don't like that approach. I think it's not effective unless it's sad. So here is my PSA for dying.

I saw this picture today on my favorite gossip blog, www.dlisted.com and I thought whoever would buy this card is a crazy person. Then I realized I would totally buy this card. I might be a crazy person.

How dumb can one person be? I understand we all have our issues with different races. Don't act like you don't, cuz everyone does. We all make generalizations. But to openly mock other races in public is just stupid. Alexandra Wallace issued an apology after she made a youtube video making fun of Asians in the library at UCLA?? Is there a need to be that ignorant and disrespectful??? I'm sure her parents, who she probably learned that behavior from, are very proud.. She mocked them for the way they speak and she said, "I swear they're going through their whole families just checking on everybody from the whole tsunami thing."
Too bad "Smart Speech" isn't in the constitution, but then again if it was, I'd probably be out of a job LOL

I just read it's time to unfollow Charlie Sheen on twitter. He has over 2 million followers and it's where he goes to rant and rave like a madman. I don't know about you but I'm not ready to unfollow Charlie. What is it about watching other people breakdown that seems so appealing?
Tpot-
He always makes us wash our plastic plates. It's the weirdest thing. My grandmother used to do that and it always made me want to say, "WE'RE NOT IN THE DEPRESSION ANYMORE WE DON'T HAVE TO WASH OUR PLASTIC!"
Washing your plastic plates is the opposite of winning.
Tpot-
Stevie always gets so mad at me because I'm late for everything. I think I will give up being late for lent LOL
Notice I just gave myself enough time to prepare to not be late for everything.

Every time he takes a picture he makes the same face. It's like he says, "oh wait someone is taking a pic? Let me get a lemon." AAAHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Here is evidence of his kissy picture face
I made a joke that everything my mom touches turns to 500 lbs. Her animals are all fat. Sometimes it seems to happen overnight. She has a cat named puff. Puff was a normal size and then got her fixed. The next week the cat was HUGE! It makes me giggle every time I see her cuz she's such a fat kitty.
I'm sure there are plenty of vets who would say that's bad, but I think it just makes Puff super cute.
Just like Oprah I have a few favorite things! Get ready to wet yourself as you read what they all are.

Oh and here's my ultimate favorite thing
I was looking at the comments for our blogs today and someone who called themselves "resentment" left this sweet little comment:
"Dear Afternoon Swirl,
My boss plays b97 every single day. So not only do I have to listen to the same songs repeatedly, I nearly cry whenever the swirl comes on. Stevie G your voice makes me want to throw my body off a cliff. T Pot your laugh makes babies cry and makes me want to slam my head against the wall. Seriously there is no way possible that your laugh is real, its repulsive. The point is, I would rather sell my soul than listen to you for 3 minutes and would pay good money to see that I need have to hear the sounds that come out of yâalls mouthes ever again. I am sure that yâall are great people but running my car off the causeways sounds more appealing than listening."
Well, resentment, first of all I am sorry you have to spend so many hard grueling hours listening to us. I know it's got to be so tough on you. I was talking to a few starving orphans who told me I had to quit telling them your situation because it was just too difficult to hear about someone experiencing such pain.
Might I offer you some advice. I've been in therapy for quite some time now and know that we cannot control the actions of other people, we can only control our own. Therefore, you can't stop me from laughing, but you can stop my laughter from entering your ears. Headphones to your ipod would be nice, or even tuning us out would work.
I'm sure that after taking control of the situation you will feel much better. Have a nice day resentment :) And here's a little picture I like to send that usually spreads cheer to others.
I love Ice Cube. I don't think he's the best rapper ever and he's not the cutest, but I have always loved him! Have you ever known (or not known) a boy who you just loved. Sometimes when you get to really know them you don't even like them. The fantasy is always so much better.
I imagine Ice Cube to be awesome, likes Ani Difranco, kills roaches without getting skiddish, and smells really good.
Tpot-
It was soooo yummy. I went to a coffee shop today and the girl forgot to heat it up so I put it in my purse and saved it till I got to work. I forgot it in there and later when I wanted cake I found it. WHAT A TREAT! BTW, this is a pic of my makeup bag because I ate my cheese danish before I could get a picture.
Tpot-
I, Tpot, am addicted to Angry Birds. I play it all day and all night. I play it nonstop. Why is this game so amazing. My favorite place to play it is on the toilet. Who needs reading when you have Angry Birds???

Today I went and got a makeover at the Clinique counter in Lakeside Mall, and it was so much fun! I always look forward to sitting down and getting my makeup done because it makes me feel like a super rich celebrity! I felt like I was getting ready for the Oscars :)
I love Clinique in particular because they never make me feel like I've got a bunch of junk caked on my face. The last time I got a makeover, I had a very natural look, but this time it was more dramatic. It's always tough deciding which look I'm in the mood for at any given time, but the people at the Clinique counter always help me find the right look for me.
When I find a product I love I become obsessed with it. That's how I feel about Clinique's 7 day scrub cream. I love it. I can use it daily and exfoliate my face. My skin feels so smooth after using it. Today I also got the quick eyes cream shadow. It's awesome for when I don't have much time but still wanna have something on my eyes, or using it along with other eye shadow for a different look.
I really love makeup. I love how it makes me feel when I have it on, and I wanna love how it feels on my face. Clinique is perfect because if you use the 3 step skin care regime, along with your superdefense spf 25 moisturizer, and then your makeup, your skin will be radiant and you will always have the perfect look.

We love our Saints, but it's still important to take a break from the party long enough to let our voices be heard in the Saturday elections. Mayor is only one of quite a few races being run this weekend, so the Swirl wanted to take a second to put our two cents in about a couple of issues important to us.
Last season, after a typically heartbreaking loss, Stevie let his frustration get the best of him and said Drew Brees would only go to the Super Bowl on a different team. Well Kevin from Da Parish never lost faith, and Stevie told him that if the Saints went to the Super Bowl he would bow down and kiss Kevin's feet. Well, needless to say, Kevin called last week to collect on this bet. And Stevie happily obliged! Afterwards, Stevie said he was never so happy to be wrong...
